Wind Dreamer
I dream on the wind
and sail through the summer breeze
waltzing upon dappled clouds
in pink ballet flats
I soak in the sun
my arms spread in wide embrace
rays of light kissing my face
in sweet love gesture
I rise to the skies
above the maples and oaks
searching for truth and meaning
a day to move free
I dance with the stars
by golden glow of buck moon
while Venus serenades us
with its siren song
I move to your touch
held safe within your strong arms
closer to eternity
hearts forever joined

Happy Friday! This poem is very light, as I just wanted to break free from this hellish week of internet and computer woes! 😦 I have been trying to adapt to a new work laptop, but it’s been a stumbling block with almost every program I encounter. The IT department has let me keep my old laptop for a little while longer until l make sure EVERYTHING is working properly on the new one. I’ve been running back and forth between the two for the last couple of days, and lugging them both to Winchester on my days there. On top of that, we have had horrendous internet outages for several days, then a new modem hooked up requiring new passwords that has confused our devices, multiple home power surges that caused our AC thermostat to lock up, and the list goes on! I don’t know how I have kept myself from breaking down crying, to be honest.
And…the heat has been so horrendous, with heat warnings every day for the past 10 days. It was 106 degrees when I got to my car Tuesday night after work. The grass is brown and crispy, and there was no sign of rain until finally Wednesday night. Of course, that’s when the power surges stated, which messed up our AC – the thermostat keyboard froze up and somehow got stuck on 60! I guess that’s better than breaking altogether. Dan is having to manually turn the AC on and off this weekend until we can get someone to come out next week. Geeeeez.
And we finally got our new sofa/loveseat delivered. These were replacements to the old ones; Dan had to do a C-Section on the sofa with his hunting knife to free Bobby from somehow getting stuck inside. *eye roll* We purposely ordered a material that is “pet proof” – HAHAHA! That’s a joke! We caught them both attempting to scratch it. So we went out the next day and bought several pet-scratch sprays. One is eucalyptus scented and it seems to be doing the job. We’re determined to keep them from ruining another piece of furniture, so any little sound has us running into the living room to make sure they’re not scratching. Oy!
Have a great weekend, much love to all!
Xoxo Colleen
