Pieces scatter, bishops cower,

Cavalry storms the castle door,
White knights battle in spiteful war.
Death bell tolls from castle tower,

Good Saturday morning! It’s been a whirlwind two weeks, and we are back from our trip to Florida. We left Monday morning, and decided to drive straight through to Virginia. We’d been gone for 11 days and were ready to get back home to sleep in our own bed. We split the driving time and arrived home at 2:45 am. The cats were ecstatic to see us lol! 😉
It was wonderful to meet our 3rd grandchild, Anthony Gray Breuning! He is such a beautiful, sweet little baby – very calm and chill, and just an absolute delight. My son Vince is absolutely smitten with “Little Ant,” and it is so heartwarming to see him as a Daddy! Our time with Posie and Hatcher was so much fun, and those two little nuggets are growing so fast! Posie started Pre-K4 this week, and she did very well. Hatcher is no doubt enjoying some alone time with Mommy and his bestie Kelsey (part-time nanny and family friend). It was so sad to leave all of them, it always breaks my heart to say goodbye (or see ya later)! My heart is so full, and I’m grateful for our family blessings. ❤
This piece was totally inspired by the chess picture provided by Marvin. I only know the basics of chess, the pieces and how they move on the board. But I’m not good with the strategy. My son Vince got to be pretty good at chess as a teenager, but I don’t think he has played much since then. If you haven’t watched Queen’s Gambit series, you simply must – it is a riveting show!
