Nights in Sedona
the red rocks beckon
sun glistens with streaks of gold
in shimmering heat
climbing the summit
serenaded by bird song
quest for paradise
high above the clouds
north wind caresses our skin
as we huddle close
pink twilight blossoms
and we’re swinging on a star
in indigo skies
your gentle embrace
makes my troubles fade away
love is all it takes
please don’t wake me up
I’m forever dreaming of
nights in Sedona

Happy Saturday, all! This is a short and sweet haiku series completely inspired by the challenge prompts – on very short notice. Were you ever having the most beautiful, wonderful dream….and you wake up? LOL that is kind of what this is about, totally light, free and off the cuff. Be sure to listen to the video below, “Nights in White Satin,” which is one of my favorite songs. ❤
I survived April 15, but was still doing a lot of client catchup for the remainder of the week. I’m happy that my schedule may get a little better in terms of having more time for things OTHER than work LOL.
I’ve actually never been to Sedona, but seeing the pictures makes me curious to visit. I’m not ready for a trip there just yet, because Dan and I really need a beach vacation before anything else. We both just want to lie on the beach drinking pina coladas and relaxing, with no itinerary or demands! Hopefully soon. But looking at Sedona pictures was inspiring, and I would like to visit someday. Just not in the foreseeable future. Anyway, today I am busy getting ready to host Easter Dinner for my local family tomorrow. Can’t wait to see them and celebrate! Wishing everyone who celebrates a Happy and Joyful Easter holiday!
Xoxo,
Colleen
Inspiration: “Nights in White Satin” by The Moody Blues
Ecrits Blogophilia Week 42.16 – Nights in Sedona
Hard Bonus: Incorporate a lyric or quote by Gloria Estefan (“Love is all it takes” from “Coming Out of the Dark”)
Easy Bonus: Include the phrase “swinging on a star”

Ah, romantic little haiku series you got there! And either way, Sedona or a nice beach – pina coladas will do just fine. KUDOS Dear Earthling! ❤
