Aperture

Shivering against the wretched cold
As clouds bunch up in cerulean sky.
Thoughts jumble into a tangled knot
Like a splinter festering in the minds eye.

Irreverent winds unharnessed by hula hoop,
Robins cavort yet stray snowflakes linger.
Old man winter wields one final blast,
The trigger pulled by unsteady finger.

Stark characters beg to be immortalized
Against a field of incandescent dreams.
Light scatters in a backdrop of silence
Where nothing is authentic as it seems.

Proof positive, the camera does not lie…
It sees all, tells all, no need for amends.
Moments in time imprinted in kodachrome
Indelibly captured through the fish eye lens.
