Be the Light

Be the Light

Look up at the sky full of stars,
Adorned with Jupiter and Mars.
As fading sun slips to twilight,
Open your eyes and be the light.

It’s the first day – New Year, new life.
I’m slipping on ice, feeling strife,
Falling into the depths of night.
Open your arms and be the light.

Beware, your eyes can deceive you
In cloudless skies of crystal blue.
Love is calling, oh what a sight!
Open your heart and be the light.

Look up at the sky full of stars,
Open your heart and be the light.

Happy Saturday and Happy New Year to all my family and friends! I sincerely hope and pray your New Year is off to a great start! I never do resolutions, as they nearly always fail. So instead the past few years I’ve been choosing a word for the year to focus on for my life journey. I had it narrowed down to a few words that popped in my head. But, the word “light” kept circling back to me. And that was the driving force for my Kyrielle Sonnet this week.

This year and beyond, I want to BE light. I want to FEEL light. I want to REFLECT light. I want to ABSORB light. I want to open my eyes, arms and heart to see the good in the world, the good in people. I want to see possibilities, dream, imagine and live my life to the fullest! On days I’m feeling down, I want to reach for the light and have it seep through my skin, into my being, to let it warm me up and make me glow. Life is way too short to focus on negativity and discord. My hope for 2025 is for LIGHT, and that you also bring light into your own life, and reflect to others.

I wish all of you a wonderful week, month and year full of light, laughter and love!

Xoxo,
Colleen
