stoking the flames, rising higher.

Happy Saturday! This week, I saw a very interesting old video with a therapist named Dr. Gottman who talked about the magic of a six second kiss and/or a twenty second hug. He explained how just prolonging the proverbial goodbye peck on the lips or have a nice day honey kiss by just a few seconds can trigger hormones and deepen the emotional bond between a couple. Well, let me just say it’s pretty cool. See for yourself! Thank me later! 😉

I’m getting my footing back after a very busy January. Last weekend, I FINALLY got my Christmas tree taken down LOL. I have resigned myself to the fact that it is just going to have to wait until January each year – until I retire, whenever that is! This weekend we’re supposed to get some ice and snow, so I plan to get my basement cleaned up. All the Christmas decorations were taken down, but they remain stacked up in my music room/wine bar. So that’s my job for the weekend, packing everything away, which isn’t much fun LOL. But I’m happy to have my weekends back, even though I’ll be working hard around the house.

Tomorrow is the Super Bowl – and I couldn’t care less about the teams in it. In my family, we were hoping the Detroit Lions or Washington Redskins would make it, but it was not in the cards. As usual, I will make my annual Super Bowl chili. I plan to double it up and take some to the chili cookoff at work on Monday, along with corn muffins. Hope you have a great weekend! ❤
