On Golden Threads

We sailed on like the ancient ones,
our sights set on the blazing sun.
Freed from boundaries of the mind…
on golden threads our lives defined.

Fearlessness blew in like the wind
unleashing doubts and mortal sins.
The ties that break, the ties that bind…
on golden threads our lives defined.

The grains of sand are my domain,
washed away by the autumn rain.
Now but a figment in my mind…

Hello all, this poem was inspired by Tori Amos lyrics, in case you can’t tell. The first line of each stanza contain one of her lyrics. If you’ve never listened to her, she is a real treat! This kind of steered me towards an Ancient Greece frame of mind, that’s how it always goes sometimes when you write. Lyrics never fail to inspire me!

I’m heading off to Florida for my visit to the grandkids. It had to be delayed as I got COVID sometime last week/weekend. I am feeling better today than I have for the past week! This was my second rodeo and fortunately my doctor was able to give me an Anti-viral which helped tremendously. I can almost say I feel like a champion this time, haha. In 2021 when I had it, I was completely knocked on my back for 2 weeks! So I wish you happiness, health, and lots of love. Please be careful out there. Lots of bad stuff going on and going around. Until then, I hope you have a great weekend and I’ll be reporting from Florida with my amazing grandkids!
