Pink Flamingos
Look here, notice me!
Primping and preening for all to see,
No accountability…
Fluff up my feathers
in rain, sun, no matter the weather,
nobody does it better…
In this sea of blue,
my vibrant nature is flowing through
in Lollapalooza hues…
Donning shades of pink,
look at me once more, what do you think?
Karma chameleon, don’t blink…
The drama unfolds
amidst skies of tangerine and gold,
Nature’s beauty to behold…

Hello friends and family! This is a quick and whimsical rhyming triplet series that I whipped up this evening. Don’t ask me where this came from! I suppose the topic “Notice Me” got me thinking about what animal (besides humans lol) likes to be noticed. It took me back to our Aruba trip in 2017, when we got a chance to see pink flamingos in the wild on one of the islands there. It’s as if they just stand there purposely primping, preening and showing off for the tourists! And of course, you can’t help but notice them – you just stop and stare in wonder at them! I got some beautiful photos of them, which I treasure. The title photo is one of my best of those beautiful creatures.
We are off on our driving trip to Florida tomorrow morning, first to visit Vince & Natalie (with a special guest), and then to snuggle up on Posie and Hatcher later in the week. I’ll write more once I get there. Hoping you all have a wonderful weekend, and that the temperatures cool down a bit. I am definitely ready for autumn, with the heat warnings and drought we’ve been getting in Virginia. Take care!
Xoxo
