Beautiful Things
I cried over beautiful things,
a butterfly with velvet wings,
eagles soaring in blue skies vast…
Sweet memories from distant past.
Wildflowers dance in meadows green,
red hues in watercolor sheen.
Gold summer sun is fading fast…
Sweet memories from distant past.
The waves have flung their beating crests,
onshore to where the seagulls rest.
White moon overhead shines steadfast…
Sweet memories from distant past.
I cried over beautiful things,
Sweet memories from distant past.

Hello and Happy Saturday, everyone! By now you all know the “surprise” we have been keeping for 9 months. Our third grandchild, Anthony Gray Breuning, arrived early on July 27, 2024! His original due date was August 7. He weighed 6 lb 7 oz and was 19.75” length. Mama and baby are doing well, and my son Vince is over the moon about his new son! We drove down last weekend and spent a few days snuggling with “Little Ant!” We are so in love with this little guy, and my heart is so full.
After that, we drove 8 hours to Panama City to “surprise” Posie and Hatcher with a visit. Katie and Brenton successfully kept our visit a secret. There was nothing like seeing the look on their faces when they answered the front door and we shouted SURPRISE! Posie immediately jumped into my arms, and Hatcher hid behind Mommy, as he didn’t know what to make of it at first. We are enjoying chilling out with them for the next few days, then leave Monday for the long drive home to Virginia.
I am treasuring this wonderful 11 days of visiting family. It has gone by too fast, and we are soaking up the time, making sweet memories. These beautiful children are the light of our lives, and we are so blessed! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Xoxo,
Colleen
