Autumn Hush
something in the air
summer is coming undone
beauty everywhere
bold October hues
glitter in radiant sun
leaves of gold imbue
sight of migrant geese
sailing in skies crystal blue
instills sense of peace
cool Northern wind blows
rudeneja coming through
hint of winter snows
breathe in the crisp breeze
time in a bottle of gold
captured memories
in setting sun’s blush
deep serenity unfolds
embrace autumn hush

Happy Saturday! This poem reflects my deep love of autumn. We are having a late changing of the leaves this year, and right now it is glorious. The colors unfolding in our backyard and in Virginia are so beautiful right now. And we’re lucky that this past week has been absolutely gorgeous – lower temperatures, blue skies, crisp breeze, the Canadian Geese coming back for winter…. such beauty!
I took the day off work yesterday and spent it with Mom. We had a great day! I took her to her doctor checkup, out for some shopping, and then a really nice dinner at BJ’s Brewhouse Restaurant. Great company, wonderful conversations… Not only is Mom a great mother, she is also my confidante and my friend! She’s doing great, she didn’t miss a beat shopping at Home Goods and Marshall’s. I’m blessed and grateful for her good health and her love. She’s one amazing woman and Mom!
That’s all I got. Hoping to do a little gardening and things around the house this weekend. Get out and explore the beauty of autumn at a backyard near you!
Xoxo,
Colleen
