Winter Wine

Winter Wine

Grey clouds fall heavy,
the air tinged with frost and ice.
Night whispers its song.
By the hearth, flames leap and sigh,
crimson wine breathes in crystal.

Snowflakes drift softly,
swirling around black lamp posts.
Golden fire beckons
as dark shadows twist and dance,
with whispered secrets of night.

Winter settles in,
a hush upon frozen earth
Decanted and dark,
the wine swirls deep in its glass,
a rich warmth in trembling hands.

Hello Family & Friends. Wow I am posting at the final hour this week! It’s been quite a whirlwind week. Another snowstorm is about to hit us tomorrow, so we’ll be hunkering down and likely settling in with some winter wine. The January 31 payroll filings deadline is rapidly approaching, which means I have been working hard and I am ready for a little R&R at some point (even though tax season doesn’t end for a while lol).

It goes without saying that I will go with WINE this week! I guess I will say that my pet peeve is WHINING. In fact, I have had a sign hanging in my laundry room for many years that states “There will be a $5 charge for whining.” 😛 It’s still there! Wishing you all a great rest of your weekend. Stay safe and warm!

Xoxo,
Colleen
