Summer Sonata

Low thunder rumbles from nimbus clouds black,
As shy catbird cries echo everywhere.
A steam engine clunks down the railroad tracks;
The sounds of summer pervade the night air.

Pink hues scatter as the sun is falling,
An indigo canvas in the night sky.
On this mid-summer night, love is calling,
And its reverie I cannot deny.

Bathed in the full buck moon’s ambient glow,
We dance in the fields beneath the moonlight.
Our lips meet in a kiss sweet as Bordeaux;
Nothing can ever compare to this night.

Serenaded by hoot owls, hearts set free…
A summer sonata for you and me.

Hi and Happy Saturday – I am very late posting this week, compared to last week. This past week was so busy! It was back to work after Wellness Week for me, with lots of catchup and client work. We did sneak away today for a long day at the pool, got lots of sun, and tomorrow we are going up to Mom’s to celebrate her 88^th birthday! 🙂

That’s about all that happened this week, nothing too exciting LOL. I’m trying to enjoy the lazy summer days we have by the pool, as we have an extremely short pool season here in Northern Virginia, as opposed to when I lived in Florida. We were blessed to have a pool, but summers were always rainy and stormy with the afternoon thunderstorms that popped up from the Everglades every single day. At times, I miss the convenience of having my own pool – but it would not be worth it here since you can only use it 3-4 months a year, if you’re lucky! 2025 would NOT have been one of those years – way too much rain and cool days in June.  Until next week, hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend! ❤
