Comforter

Comforter

In the deep of cold winter nights,
My mind accelerates in flight.
As night grows long and ever bleak,
It is serenity I seek.

Though stress and worry weigh me down,
I need a way to stand my ground.
When anxiety reaches peak,
It is serenity I seek.

Cocoon me in protective arms
Like a comforter, soft and warm.
Your whisper gentle on my cheek,
It is serenity I seek.

In the deep of cold winter nights,
It is serenity I seek.

Here it is, late on a Saturday night – and I’m finally getting around to posting a poem. It’s been a wild and crazy work week, as I’m working every day to get those W-2s, 1099s and payroll tax returns filed! My coworkers and I are used to it, this is our busiest month. Because January 31 falls on the weekend, we get 2 extra days to get things done, so that is a positive in my book! (See, I am staying positive LOL)!

I penned this Kyrielle Sonnet pretty quickly, so it’s probably a little crappy but at least I exercised the right side of my brain for a change. I didn’t use peek or pique in the poem because it was just a little too hard for my tired brain tonight. But there’s been zero problem with Mr. Sandman – he visits me quickly each night. I am so tired when I hit the hay that I fall asleep instantly, so that is also a positive in my book!

I hope you all are staying warm, yesterday was extremely cold – but I’ve been inside for most of the past 3 days! My daughter said they have a chance of SNOW in Panama City, Florida this weekend. That’s so crazy – last year they got a record snowstorm that pretty much paralyzed the city, but everyone had so much fun with the kids, sledding and making snowmen. It was pretty cool, and the kids were so excited!

That’s all for now. I’m going to skip my workout for a change and just sit down with a glass of wine and relax. Have a great weekend! Xoxo

Love,
Colleen
