My Sunshine

My Sunshine

You are the sunshine of my life,
A light that always shines and glows.
When I’m with you, there is no strife…
I’m lost without you, heaven knows.

A light that always shines and glows,
Warm eyes sparkle with joy and love.
I’m lost without you, heaven knows…
You are an angel from above.

Warm eyes sparkle with joy and love;
I feel my heart float in blue skies.
You are an angel from above…
Sugar delight, honey prize.

I feel my heart float in blue skies,
Cotton candy, marshmallow fluff.
Sugar delight, honey prize…
It seems I cannot get enough.

Cotton candy, marshmallow fluff,
My sweet tooth is out of control.
It seems I cannot get enough…
A taste of you will make me whole.

My sweet tooth is out of control;
At times, it is hard to believe.
A taste of you will make me whole…
Just hold me close and never leave.

At times, it is hard to believe
When I’m with you, there is no strife.
Just hold me close and never leave…
You are the sunshine of my life.

Ah, finally Saturday! We spent the afternoon by the pool. At first, it looked like it would be a washout, we sat under an umbrella for about 45 minutes as a few light showers passed through. I’m glad we stuck it out, as the rest of the day was blue skies and fluffy clouds (yes, marshmallow fluff!). It was much busier than last weekend, and we did venture into the pool this week. DANG, the water was COLD! We are the old farts who LIVE for adult swim these days, haha!! It was a very relaxing day spent reading – I finished one Freida McFadden novel (“The Inmate”) and am now halfway through another (“Never Lie”). She writes the kind of murder mysteries that draw you in, and she really knows how to put in a good twist!

Tomorrow I’m planning on doing some more gardening. Last Sunday Dan and I worked in the backyard trimming down all the foilage from my spring daffodils and hyacinth, as well as weeding out my big rock garden up on the ridge. I should really rename it my “weed garden” lol.

This poetry format is a pantoum, and I have not done one in quite a while. It uses alternating and repeating lines in a specific format. I started out with the grandkids in mind, but it ended up as more of a love poem. Ooops! Anyway, I hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend! Xoxo
Love,
Colleen
