Escape from Narcissism

gut
instinct
stirs within
something amiss
in torrent of lies
blood boils within my veins
web of deceit is unveiled
and now you have my attention
as I struggle to breathe in fresh air
reality sets in like a lead weight
narcissism invades, fatal virus
black like moist mold within the drywall
hazardous waste is set afire
burning everything to ash
hot embers falling down
I run like the wind
into the void
as I set
myself
free

Hello all! Just a quick write this morning as I take a breather from playing with the grandkids. We’re having a grand time and they are growing so quickly!

Something about my own experience with gut instinct…always listen to it! In my past life, my instincts and intuition have always been spot on. I have learned to listen to that feeling inside. Having had a brush with true narcissism in the past, I know exactly what it looks like and feels like. I have lived in the lies, tried to talk myself out of believing what the truth actually was, etc. I stayed in that situation far longer than I should have, but ultimately knew it was up to ME and me alone to make the changes necessary in my life. It’s not easy, it’s scary….but I am living proof that it is worth it. So that’s all I’ve got – listen to your gut. It is telling you something very important. Xoxo
